Katherine and Brad – Wedding Preview

Published on 20th August 2018

I love nothing more than photographing another friend or family member of previous clients, it is great to catch up!! This┬áSaturday I spent the day with the lovely Whatley family two years on from Matt’s wedding to Katie; this time it was his little sisters turn Kat as she married Brad in Yeovilton. The morning started off at their family home where Kat and her bridesmaids got ready, soon it was time for everyone to get dressed and my goodness Kat looked incredible! The dress fitted perfectly and her Mum Caroline did a fab job of the bow at the back, nailing it first time!

Down the road at the beautiful St Bartholomew’s Church, Brad was greeting guests and awaiting his bride, he seemed nervous which surprised me; he always has everyone laughing so to see him a little quiet was rare! Before long Kat was walking down the aisle on the arm of her brother Matt and the ceremony was underway. When Matt married Katie a few years ago (in a different church) there was a little mix up as the Vicar forgot to get Katie to say her vows. From doing lots of weddings I understand its the vows that are the legal part followed by the signing of the register; so it was a little worrying when it was realised Brad had married his best man Steve on these documents! Got to love a Whatley wedding, for some reason it can’t go to plan and be legal in one go! So after walking down the aisle, the couple went back in to finalise the marriage and get it corrected while guests gathered in the beautiful gardens behind the church. Here we took some group photos before confetti fun and then on to the reception at the lovely Northover Manor for drinks and dinner.

Later in the day the 3 speeches took place; all were great and at this point I had learnt that Brad is not one for public affection or public speaking. Keeping his speech short I think he drank more with nerves and toasts than saying actual words, regardless it was still funny! Not quite as funny as the best man’s Steve, who had supplied guests with photographs and props which were brilliant! After the first dance I took the newly weds off for some last evening photographs under the lights at dusk, a lovely way to finish off such a great day!

A massive congrats to the new Mr and Mrs Trowbridge; or as it was put in the speeches, Brad and his bird!
