So I always say to my clients when they ask ”What happens if it rains?”; well it never rains all day! Hmm, so Good Friday proved me wrong! Luckily my couple Joanna and Stephen booked the beautiful St Audries Park and we even said before the big day; if the weather is bad at least you have got a large beautiful venue with lots of character. That being said these two didn’t let a little bit of rain and some flooding dampen their day!
Joanna got ready in the morning with the help of her Mum and two bridesmaids, hair and makeup was well underway. While Jo go dressed in to her gorgeous two piece gown guests were making their way under umbrellas over to the orangery for the ceremony. I just love it there, even on the greyest of days it has a beautiful light to it, it truly is the perfect place to say I do. Joanna and Stephen had written their own vows and poor Stephen’s emotions got the better of him as he struggled to say the words to his best friend; looking around he wasn’t the only one shedding a tear at that point.
We all braved the weather again to get back over to the main house and the couple relaxed knowing everyone was now warm and dry for the rest of the day. The speeches took place before dinner was served in the dinning room, after I asked the couple if they would like to head outside. I think even with poor weather its important to ‘brave it’ and capture it, I mean by now pretty much the whole garden and paths were flooded so I was ecstatic when they agreed to take a short walk under an umbrella for me! In my excitement I forgot to put my coat on so I got a little wet, but that means nothing to get more great shots!
At the end of the night I left the couple on the dance floor enjoying the live music; what a brilliant day and these two sure didn’t let anything stop them from having the best day ever. A huge thank you to the new Mr and Mrs Hibberd for letting me capture the day, also thank you for my little Easter treat…. those mini eggs didn’t last two minutes!
