#BESTYOU evening by Sasha Pallari

Published on 21st November 2017

A while back I was asked to go along to Sasha’s very first event called #bestyou. I have worked with Sasha at quite a few weddings (she has also done my makeup for events) and of course I said yes to documenting the event for her. When I heard how amazing the event was going to be I couldn’t wait! The evening was held at the Ivy in Bristol, although on arrival there was a power cut Sasha and her team managed to get all set up in the dark for the lights to come back on just in time; her attention to detail was incredible. When guests arrived they were greeted by Sasha with a glass of bubbly and after everyone opened their #bestyou boxes which were full of incredible products, food was served before Sasha began her live tutorial. I can’t give away all of the tips and advice I picked up; (you will have to go along to the next one yourself), but I have started being gentle with my skin, washing my makeup brushes (can’t believe the colour they are meant to be) as well as investing in some new products to help my makeup last all day not just a few hours.

However, along side all of the fabulous advice and tips on┬áthe application of makeup Sasha also promotes something very important to me; self love. After suffering with Post Natal Depression last year after the arrival of my son I have tried so hard not to be tough on myself and even before this I believed if you can’t love yourself no one else will. Sasha wants women to know that true beauty starts with self love, no amount of makeup can create that type of radiance; makeup can only enhance it. This is such an important message in a world of contorting and Kardashion wannabes! The main thing I took home was that it’s ok to have bad days, eat rubbish (like the bag of giant buttons I have just scoffed), feel low, but then the next day pick myself up and try again. To remind myself that I am who I am; I may not be back in my skinny pre-pregnancy jeans but I need to be kind to myself and if I apply a little bit of makeup it will lift my mood and make me feel like the #bestme.

Thanks so much Sasha for a wonderful evening! Here are a few shots from the event along side some of the stunning bridal makeup Sasha has provided for my beautiful brides.
