Quantock Lakes is located just outside of Bridgwater in Nether Stowey, a beautiful barn and stables converted into a rustic retreat for weddings and events. I drive past on my way to my in- laws in Minehead and finally popped in to meet Laura their Head of Sales and Marketing to have a look around and hear all about the venue.
As I arrived you can see the two gorgeous lakes and the barn in the distance as you enjoy the long drive way; I walked into the main entrance and was greeted by beautiful natural wooden furniture, high ceilings and original beams. I love the rustic feel and natural wood so I couldn’t wait to be shown around. Laura took me to the ceremony room which was originally a barn, as well as the new Quantock Barn with bar and feature fire place. The original Barn was converted by the family who own Quantock Lakes, they have also created lots of unique pieces of furniture created from stunning pieces of wood (the wooden coffee table and bar area are my favourites!). As Laura guided me around the marquee and the rest of the grounds with stunning views of the hills as a back drop she talked about the background of the venue and how the Jeanes family are dairy farmers originally but love giving couples a great place for their big day. Over 8 years of experience and now the new Quantock Barn completed last year and accommodation open this year (more to be added summer 2017) they have big plans for Quantock Lakes; with Laura on board this venue is getting booked up quickly and I can see why. The venue is exclusively yours – A massive selling point I loved is that you have time the day before your wedding to set up the venue with your loved ones so that when you leave you know that everything is perfect for your big day. You also have a relaxed run through of your ceremony at this time. You can then leave and spend the night in one of the beautifully converted barns before you return the next day for your wedding.
I am thrilled now to be a recommended photographer to couples celebrating their day at Quantock Lakes; huge thanks to Laura for taking the time to show me around, I look forward to seeing you soon!
